The work our staff does each day at Maryhaven is difficult. No one can disagree that working at Maryhaven is not without challenges. Our staff must work within Federal and State guidelines, and adhere to standards in order to maintain accreditation and fulfill the tenets of our Agency mission. All this while providing a warm and nurturing atmosphere where each individual is afforded the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. For many, working at Maryhaven has become so much more than a job; it’s an opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a special person.
This February, Maryhaven held our annual Service Awards Dinner to honor 80 individuals whose combined years of service totaled 749. Almost half have been with Maryhaven ten years or more. An awesome accomplishment. The sense of family is so evident. Presenter after presenter shared human, often funny, stories about the staff members they were honoring. The reflections were serious and tender. However, each stood as a testimony to the dedication and commitment our staff brings to Maryhaven each day. I am proud to share the journey with such a wonderfully gifted staff. I thank each for being a part of Maryhaven.
