2016 Myrtle Avenue School Graduation

On a beautiful Thursday evening last week, fourteen of Maryhaven Center of Hope's Myrtle Avenue School students celebrated their graduation from our program. In attendance to help celebrate were several hundred family members, friends, teachers, counselors, fellow students and members of the Maryhaven community.

After a welcoming speech by Principal Martin Nelson and a most touching speech by Maryhaven CEO, Lou Grossman, the attendees were treated to a very beautiful and moving slide presentation on the lives of the graduates from babies up till the time of graduation. The key presentation of the evening was the wonderful recollection of the love and success made by each graduate given by Assist Principal, Ingrid Jeannis-Desire. Her first-hand reflection on each student and the progress they made over their years at Maryhaven was uplifting, encouraging and deeply personal. The pinnacle of the evening though, just prior to the certificate distribution, were the brief speeches by several students, thanking teachers, parents and so many at Maryhaven for their love and support.

The evening was topped off with a very special dessert reception immediately following the ceremony. Good luck and Godspeed to our graduates of the Class of 2016!
