The mission of Maryhaven is to "improve enrich and respect the lives of people with special needs" and in doing so "create opportunities" to facilitate their transition to independent living. Our programs and services fulfill this mission, and in the process have earned Maryhaven a reputation as a center of excellence.
Maryhaven relies on public funding. This funding is often subject to fluctuations in the economy and challenges us to do more with less. Donor opportunities must therefore be created to maintain Maryhaven’s high quality programs and services and ensure its mission.
While giving is voluntary, we encourage all families to participate in the way they feel most comfortable. There are many ways of giving. The following is an overview of how you can make a tax-deductible donation to Maryhaven.
Annual Giving
Annual Appeal- The annual appeal provides unrestricted funds to support all of Maryhaven’s programs and services. It is launched at the end of each year with a mailing to all parents and friends of Maryhaven.
Annual Special Events- Throughout the year Maryhaven sponsors fundraising events in the community, which raises of our programs and services while also providing needed funding for the Agency. Our annual events include: The Maryhaven Dinner Dance, the Al Falussy Memorial Golf Classic, The Protex International Golf Tournament, the PONY (Pride of New York) event and the 3-On3-Basketball Tournament. Deferred Planned Gifts
Maryhaven has many vehicles for multi-year planned gifts with appropriate tax incentives for the contributor. Maryhaven does not itself provide specific advice on legal matters or on insurance or other financial products; however, we will arrange for appropriate professional consultation upon request. We urge all prospective contributors to consult with advisors for specific opinions.
